LIGHTWEIGHT + COMPACT ITEMS Opt for lightweight items that don't take up too much space. It's summer so think tank tops, cropped tops, scarves, flowy dresses, breezy trousers. I'm also into summer knitwear pieces since they don't wrinkle and take up minimal space. NATURAL FIBERS You want to feel comfortable (and smell good) in the heat. Stick to natural fibers that allow your skin to breathe - such as linen, cotton and silk. It looks effortlessly chic and feels good. PLAN A COLOR PALETTE I personally love an earthy palette, however if you want something colorful and fun just think about a palette that works well when mixed and matched (ex: white, camel, pink, orange, red, gold). KEY NEUTRAL BASICS These are the staple neutral items that will be worn multiple times, and that are key to make this minimal packing work. A couple cotton or linen pants (black, camel, white, beige), one piece swimsuits that can also be worn as bodysuits, cotton tank tops to be worn solo or under open shirts, a white linen shirt that looks super chic with tonal shorts / trousers that can also be worn as a beach cover-up. MINIMAL FOOTWEAR This is where you have to really scale down. Take only a couple neutral flats, if possible simple slides that barely take any space. VERSATILE BAG A raffia tote and a neutral small handbag is all you need. You can wear the tote to the beach as well as with daytime looks, and at night switch to the smaller handbag. To save space, use the tote as your travel bag too since it fits books, laptop, etc. HAND STEAMER Take a small hand steamer to smooth out any wrinkles - specially since natural fibers crease a lot. This also helps refresh and tidy up items you are wearing more than once.
